You Never Forget Your First!

Good morning! Rise and shine! If you haven't enjoyed a 3AM breakfast in Denny's you're about to embark on a totally new experience- Cracker Barrel!

Exit through the reception desk area and turn left. It's about a 2 minute walk to the entrance to Cracker Barrel. You'll walk past the entrance to a closed down Chinese restaurant and you'll be facing the back of Cracker Barrel. It looks amazingly empty this way, but it was designed to face the freeway so passerby's can see it.

Personally, I recommend that you order one of the Grandpa breakfasts. Be sure to try their sausage pattys and as something unique to the deep south, you might, just once, want to try 'country ham.' There are two types of ham offered and you have to specifically say you want the country ham.

Cracker Barrel are famous for their biscuits and corn bread. Ask them for a mix of the two with your breakfast. It's an experience you have to try! Just once. But I think after this dining experience you both will be happy to stop at Cracker Barrels along your journey up to Savannah.

By the way, ask the lady at the tills for one of their national maps. They are good for plotting your trip and they give you a list of where all the restaurants are in America.

An American custom is to continue refilling your coffee or iced tea. They will generally do it without you having to ask. You only pay once for coffee or tea. Refills are free.

Tipping is appropriate in Cracker Barrel. The waitresses earn USD$1.60 an hour and rely solely on tips as their key salary.

Note:

The rocking chairs out front are for sale, but feel free to rest your bum for a bit! Don't forget to look at the newspaper kiosks, located outside on the right-hand front of the restaurant, to pick up the paper magazine containing special hotel discounts!
