Getting Out Of Dodge-Kennedy Space Centre

First, it's easy to get out of Dodge partner!

As you leave the hotel, turn left on Kirkman Road and follow the signs to Interstate I-4 East.

In america, even number roads run east and west, Odd numbers run north and south.

Follow the signs to the 'Florida Turnpike.' Exit number 77. (this is the same as heading towards Orlando Airport, so just follow those signs if it's clearer to understand.) These will be toll roads so have some quarters (25 cents) available.

You'll follow on SR (State Road) 528 East, following the signs to Cape Canaveral. The signs are well marked to Kennedy Space Centre. Easy! (about 45 miles)

The Kennedy Space Centre tour is approximately 3 hours. They run from 1000hrs until 1500 each day.

I've done the tour twice. It is interesting to see once, but after that, it doesn't appeal. I've not taken any groups to it in my life. I'll be interested in hearing what your thoughts are.

A suggestion...you will save money by doing your tour then heading on up north towards St Augustine. The sun is setting later now and it will be easy driving along A1A with a cornucopia of hotels to choose from!

Caveat!

No matter how deserted Highway 528 appears, do NOT speed! In some counties the local police earn 'performance bonuses' for the number of arrests they make for speeding. And without a bond certificate you will be required to go directly to the court! It's a real pain in the neck! (and I have a lower opinion!)
